Professional Experience
I joined David Blume and Jeff Swearingen at Edgemont in 2003. During my time here, I have spent most of my energy working with pharmaceutical services companies and pharmaceutical sponsors on acquisitions and divestitures, capital sourcing, and valuation and fairness opinions. Working with clients over the course of several years has been educational and rewarding as I participated in, and hopefully contributed to, their growth and development as companies.

I joined Edgemont after working in investment banking at Salomon Smith Barney (now a division of Citigroup), first with the company’s Global Automotive Group, and later with the Global Industrials and Large Capitalization Group. I was exposed to a wide range of industries and deals, covering over a dozen Fortune 100 companies and executing both merger and acquisition transactions as well as debt, equity, and convertible note offerings.

Prior to Salomon Smith Barney, I was a safety systems engineer at BMW AG in Munich, and worked in satellite design at CTA Launch Services (now a division of Orbital Sciences).

Favorite Professional Accomplishment
Working on the largest leveraged buyout since the RJR Nabisco deal ranks up there (The Blackstone Group’s $4.7 billion acquisition of TRW Automotive in February 2003, a record that stood for about a month). However, my most rewarding professional experiences have come from working with small and medium-size clients, helping them to achieve their strategic, financial, or personal goals. I enjoy the sectors Edgemont specialize in, and I take pride knowing that we serve as a trusted partner to our clients.

Personal
My wife and I are both New York City transplants: I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK and she is from Holly Springs, MS. My parents started our family business when I was in the first grade, and I assume that is where I got my entrepreneurial spirit. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, concentrating in material properties, and added a double major in American Government to spice things up. My wife is a lawyer practicing in corporate litigation.

Other Life
Rain or shine, I love to be outdoors. I am a passionate fly fisherman and outdoorsman. When the New York City lifestyle doesn’t allow these though, my wife and I enjoy reading (Steinbeck is a favorite, as well as anything about the Civil War) and going to movies (we live in an apartment above a movie theater).

Passions
See above. I have also always gotten a thrill out of traveling, especially driving cross-country.

Secret Ambitions
My not-so-secret ambition is to be a jazz pianist, although it is a long way from becoming a reality. Fortunately I have an understanding piano instructor who appreciates my busy work and travel schedule.
